This past weekend, I had so much fun fellowshipping and photographing the NSP Gospel Choir spring concert at the Iron Gate Theatre in Philadelphia. While an annual event, it is always amazing to see students, families, and alumni come together to enjoy praise and worship. The choir immediately started a party by encouraging the audience to dance along.
The Iron Gate theatre is the perfect venue as it serves as a church as well as performance space. Ornate windows, classic architecture and the intimate interior set the stage for a life-changing event. The power and spirit within the soloists moved the audience and me. Many times, I had to pause in awe as the directors continued to orchestrate the choir’s harmonies. My favorite song of the night was “Deliver” by J.J. Hairston & Youthful Praise, when the Quincy taught everyone their individual choir parts. Voices upon voices were able to join in.
My excitement hit an all-time high when I saw and loved on the alumni in the room. Yes, I was working. When family comes together like this, it is important to drop whatever you are doing and show everyone all of the love. Every single person.
Once again, I am so honored that I am invited back to document New Spirit of Penn’s concerts. They are always such a blessing.
As a special treat, I hope you enjoy the rest of the concert images.
