About Tonjanika

HELLO
THERE!

Philadelphia-based wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer, educator, dreamer and doer.

Philadelphia Multicultural Photographer

Most days, you’ll find me cooking, enjoying great music, or grading papers.  I am known for my red lipstick and polka dots, my love for (read: obsession with) dresses with pockets, and my ability to turn any situation into a song. I’m a passionate visual storyteller, a urban education activist, and a woman on a mission to serve the community. People often refer to me as a “warm, vibrant old soul” who strives to make you feel like family.

PHILOSOPHY

My photography style is natural and authentic -- capturing your truth as it unfolds. I am blessed to visually celebrate special memories and the little things that make life unforgettable. If you desire a photography experience that is full of laughter, good times, and a genuine focus on candid moments, then you will be right at home.

Decades from now, I want you to look at your handmade weddings albums and have all those beautiful emotions of warmth and happiness rush back. I want you to remember these days and be proud to share your photographs as part of your love story.

When I am not busy with weddings and portraiture, I can be found teaching middle school math, guest teaching dance class, increasing access and opportunity for students of color as well as working on media projects for my church. Oh, and I'm always up for a good night of karaoke and bowling.

Because I believe in pouring into others, I offer each client a custom experience, and 10% of all session and album purchases will be reinvested in education and youth development programs. Currently, I am supporting Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida where I started my photography journey. Together, we will change the world  -- one image at a time.
